The Martin and Lewis cropped-photo story: Look's 1954 index shows the picture spread on Lewis, with no entry for Martin. The crop story is earliest found in 1964. The contact sheets are at the Library of Congress, not digitized, so we could not check it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7tV...

Did Dean Martin ever explain the Martin and Lewis split? He did, on the record. AP, June 1956: "I can't see spending $1,700,000 on a director's debut." Saturday Evening Post, 1961: "I said, 'Start looking, boy!'" www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7tV...

Fox's president told the producer of The Gunfighter (1950) that Gregory Peck's moustache "cost us a million dollars". Variety had it third or fourth in the country that summer. The producer: "it wasn't a calamity." youtube.com/shorts/Vipjg...

A headline says John Wayne lost The Gunfighter (1950) over a $10,000 lowball. That figure comes only from the writer, in a 1972 book. Wayne's own words: "I offered him a lot of money!" Fox's records, per AFI: $30,000. youtube.com/shorts/rjh_4...

Dean Martin's "six words" to Jerry Lewis? As a 2026 video speaks them, they are eight, and that wording is in neither of Lewis's memoirs. The earliest printing we found is Lewis's own 1982 memoir, worded differently. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7tV...

"You're nothing to me but a dollar sign." The line everyone quotes about the Martin and Lewis breakup is earliest found in Jerry Lewis's 1982 memoir, 26 years after the split. In 1956 Dean Martin gave his own reasons, on the record. We followed both: www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7tV...

Did Frances Farmer have a lobotomy? Debunking sites point to a 1983 court ruling. We read it: no admission, a "factual basis" finding about copyright, and "portions" fabricated, unnamed. Neither says whether the operation happened. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7O8S...

Two answers online: Frances Farmer was lobotomized, or the author who told it "admitted" making it up. We read the 1983 ruling. It records no admission, and it does not say the operation happened. What it does say is in our new case: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7O8S...
