I appreciate that. I can do the same.

Cleaning up the .csv files is the key at this point. Claude can do this work for you.

I definitely have separate projects in Goldie May. And I'm pretty sure I'm not using it to its full capacity. Knowing what to do with the csv downloads seems to be the challenge. I have Claude AI help me clean those sheets up.

I initially set it to a sloppy research log. Downloading the .csv gave me extra work. But the links were the key to getting back to the actual records and with a little housework I cleaned up the sheet to make it usable.

I too use Goldie May to create a list of records I need to access at an affiliate library. I used to put them in an email to myself. Then I send the links to a librarian in an affiliate location & kindly ask them to do the work for me. If I could more readily get there, I'd gladly do it myself.

I've created this new exercise for myself. I call it, roughly, "Ten Questions". I pick an ancestor and i make a list of ten questions I'd like to ask them. Sometimes it is so heartfelt and real... especially when its an ancestor I actually knew. #genealogy

It's an amazing way to connect with people worldwide. You send postcard, you receive postcards and you feel less isolated, more connected. I highly recommend it. postcrossing.com

This is patently false. I can easily find myself on the floor; it's getting up off the floor have I difficulty with.

GoodReads needs a new shelf category: "Had to return it to the library because so many people had it on hold I could not renew it and I'm a slow reader." #books #Bksky

Best Ancestry hint I've seen in a while. Searching for a young woman named Lavancha Smith. This hint suggests she's in the 1910 Syracuse Univ yearbook. Even has a matching photo. #genealogy #ancestry

Snip of a hint suggestion from Ancestry - shows a business advertisement for L.C. Smith Typewriter Company in Syracuse New York. Black and white image of an early ca. 1910 typewriter.

There's so much creative genealogy going on at FindAGrave. Why connect people without records? Why assume lineage without records? Why not answer my messages asking you to show me the proof of familial connections? #genealogy #citeyoursources It's that simple.

This came to my local libraries a week ago. 2 million books gifted in just one county. Dolly Parton’s impact is astounding.

In a world that is filled with such bleakness Dolly was always a light and reminder of what was good in the world. Such a loss. www.instagram.com/reel/DceNXgP...

There's some songs, some music, that, no matter when you listen to it, it pulls you back to a time and place that touches your heart in the most sensitive place(s). Tears. Goosebumps and a power that can not adequately be described.

I've had an idea for some time now about a website I'd like to set up. This evening I spoke to Claude (AI) about it. I can't quote them exactly but they have concerns about me taking on another project and over extending myself. HELLO. This is what I do. Over extend. Claude's advice - noted.

My library, Syracuse Public Library, had an amazing history. I just found this photo of President Herbert Hoover signing up for a library card. Sorry, don't know the date [n.d] and I assume it's a the Central Library. [n.p.] Fun photo. #library #HerbertHoover Is there really a hashtag for Hoover?

When one of your FAVORITE authors releases a new book; it's available in your library system; you might have to go to an unfamiliar branch to pick it up but.... you would travel even further to get your hands on this book. Placed the hold. Crossing fingers until they open tomorrow. #books #library

Family Search sent an email to tell me I'm related to Samuel Huntington, who signed the Declaration of Independence. He would be my 3rd cousin seven times removed. OK. 😒 I told my brother, he told his grandchildren we are related to Samuel Jackson. #genealogy surprises never cease

Part of an email from Family Search, with an image of Samuel Huntington who they say is my 3rd cousin 7 times removed. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. This amused me.

The scorching weather allows me to watch more films. #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday The Wonder (2022) 52 Tuesdays (2013) Jimpa (2025) The Killing of Two Lovers (2020)

Four film posters, all in color, all with people on them. I'm not sure how else to describe this image. It's a snip taken from my Letterboxd account which allows me to track what movies I've watched. Hope this helps.

After reading your post, I asked Claude if I should try Fable 5. Claude advised that for the work I was doing I probably didn't need to. But your post got me thinking and at some point I most definitely will.

It's been a good day. My friend delivered 2 dozen fresh eggs from her hens to my door bright and early this morning. My AC was fixed and I just got a notice from the library that a book is being held for me. #librarylove

That feeling, when you look in your library for a book and they only have the e-book edition. I want a hard copy. I want pages to turn, a spine to hold. #librarydisappointment

She taught French and Italian. She sang opera songs and would regularly talk about certain French words and how much she loved the way they sounded. She was a teacher who loved what she taught. It showed.

Ancestry has yearbooks; while searching today for a client's ancestors photo I decided to look for my 11th grade French teacher. I wasn't clear on what she looked like. Found her photo; it made me smile. She was so much fun; an exemplary educator. Thank you Mrs. Anastasia Caiello.

Black and white year book photo of a woman who taught languages in a high school in Syracuse NY in the late 1960s and early 1970s. She's smiling because she lived life fully and embraced what she loved. It came thru when she taught. Anastasia Caiello - you were an amazing role mode.

It's been said a gazillion times before: why didn't anyone write on the back of the photo? Scanning my parents' pics, having no clue who people are, where photo was taken. It's painful. Someone would love this photo. My mother is in some of the pics. He was probably her friend... @genealogy

Since that election, I have been haunted by the question, why didn't the new 18 year old voters send Nixon packing? With the franchise expanded, why did Nixon still win?
