I saved the best item in the Marcenet Mercantile shipment for last: Bourbon Marshmallow Millionaire Shortbread. @hollyoreilly.bsky.social, I eagerly await your return to chocolate-making (and thanks for letting me nick your photo!).

A few Bourbon Marshmallow Millionaire Shortbreads on a kitchen table, one split in two to reveal the thick shortbread base topped with rich caramel and puffy marshmallow, all enrobed in dark chocolate. Trust me: it tastes even better than it looks.

Rough day yesterday, but I got home to find a box from @hollyoreilly.bsky.social’s Marcenet Mercantile and I had a Belgian Chocolate Covered Marshmallow and… well, the warning sticker was correct.

A circular black and white sticker on an off-white box: “Warning! Opening this package will cause extreme happiness”

4/ If the price of chocolate falls, we may reopen the chocolate part of the business in the fall. There are few things in this world I love to do than being a chocolate maker and a chocolatier. I am heartbroken. marcenetmercantile.com/p/cherry-blo...

1/ As most of you probably know, I own a bakery/chocolate shop called @Marcenetmerc marcenetmercantile.com Because of the threat of tariffs on agricultural goods and the effects of climate change, chocolate prices are at a 50-year high. You can read about it more here.

I'm in the middle of my third COVID infection. It's not going great. Please send good thoughts, chicken soup, dog pics, and a time machine so I can get past the suck and back to my life again. I developed long covid after my second infection. It took months before the POTS symptoms subsided.
