recently had a campaign end and the final battle had such hype moments. Two favs was when I had the BBEG lich swing his cursed sword and roll MAX damage CRIT to kill an ally (around 80 dmg) Only for the Paladin to swap locations using a magic item to take the hit and BARELY survive with 5 hp.

One of my favorite memories from my first dnd campaign post covid was when I had a group of low level bandits try to mug the party when they were level 15. And after my bard got a nat 1 on a intimidation check, he immediately just casted disintegration on their captain.
