Yeah any GOOD stealth game needs that phase purely for feel. Without it it's just a game of stepping on landmines, you never get a chance to make sure you're not stepping on one

It's really got an interesting directorial style, it's so indecisive in what it wants to be and that alone gives it more character than it might otherwise have. I also really didn't think Stewart or Pattinson were that bad at all

Maybe the hate for it was overblown. Maybe it got so much shit because the kinds of loud critics you hear weren't the target audience 🤷 I'm not saying it didn't have moments that were unintentionally funny, but idk it told a story with kinda bizarre direction, and that's interesting

I just watched Twilight for the first time (I don't know how I missed it when my entire friend group at school was nuts about it when it came out) and do you know what? I didn't hate it at all. I think it's just fine. It's not amazing, but it's not the worst thing ever.

Worst part of this whole project: I wrote the map data and map editor before anything else. The map editor treats the top left square of the grid as 0,0 because it was simpler to draw it in that way. This has meant EVERY single other runtime class dealing with the grid has to to invert it :) :)

Of course the hardest thing about making games is not the code, it's the making the actual content. That's the stuff that takes the big amounts of time. I have a big library full of prototypes and 0 released games for this exact reason

Well I made a whole mission scripting system that handles game events, shows dialogue, spawns units, all that sort of thing. Gotta also hook up being able to actually win the game... but a few more features and I'll have something I can kinda just focus on making pretty!

Oh no it's like THE USAF base over here for their bomber deployments. It usually has regular U2S reconnaissance flights, and every now and then a bomber deployment for NATO training exercises (plus hosting the UK's largest airshow ever summer). Since the Iran stuff it's got several bombers there.
