Somehow I convinced my wife to watch Army of Darkness with me last night and the charm of Bruce Campbell won over her horror-averse sensibilities.

Wanted some laughs with my scares for #31nightsofhalloween and this 90s cult classic fit the bill. It’s actually kind of crazy how it sets the stage for Clueless with all the SoCal high school slang and humorous look at teenage drama, but with vampires instead of Paul Rudd…who might BE a vampire 🤔

It’s #themisfits Monday, so let’s take a look at the band’s cameo at the end of the movie Campfire Stories, performing the song “No More Moments” that was later featured on the Cuts From The Crypt album.

It’s MISFITS Monday, my fellow Fiends! Join M.E.L. 3000 as the horror of #halloween blasts through his speaker skull with punk rock pumpkin fury!

Oh, cool. I wouldn’t have guessed about the Looney Tunes license being involved. I want to know what the original chocolate that I assume came inside my generic coffin looked like.

Yesterday’s viewing of the original went so well, for #31nightsofhalloween my youngest is going to take in the awesomeness that is #ghostbusters 2!

@horrormoviebbq.bsky.social has a point, but I think we can all agree that “Best” is better than “Good” 😄

I’m in the mood for some bootleg Boogedy action this afternoon.

No Halloween season is complete without blog posts from @dinosaurdracula.bsky.social bringing vintage spooky spooky fun to the internet. Always entertaining. Thanks, Matt!

Wakey-wakey all you ghouls and ghosts, time to lift the lid on your coffins and start scaring the #halloween spirit into the living!

As you might have guessed, this guy was my 7 year old’s favorite part of watching the first #Ghostbusters movie tonight.

My youngest is joining me this evening for #31nightsofhalloween to enjoy his first viewing of #ghostbusters and I couldn’t be more excited for him.

Really enjoyed the 40th anniversary The Real #ghostbusters script reading livestream event. Seeing Maurice LaMarche performing as Egon was fantastic and the rest of the cast did great (especially Rob and Jonah as Peter and Ray). Kudos to Derek Mears for going all out and performing in costume 😄

For #31nightsofhalloween I decided to bypass the original #anightmareonelmstreet (which I’ve watched a ton) and indulge in the wackiness of Freddy’s Revenge instead.

050

Hoju BOOlander @hojukoolander.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Or Teddy Krueger. Take your pick 😄

010

Hoju BOOlander @hojukoolander.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Yes indeed! Freddy Ruxpin/Teddy Krueger 😉

It put me to sleep when I saw it in theaters, that’s for sure 😉

It’s the first #FreddyKrueger Friday of #halloween month and M.E.L. 3000 is in #anightmareonelmstreet mood, so strap on your bladed gloves, throw on a fedora and “Do The Freddy”!

The thing I most regretted about missing RetroCon this year was not getting to meet Nicholas Hammond, the original live action #spiderman. But my buddy Tony was nice enough to get him to sign the cover of my VHS of the series. Thanks, buddy!

It’s the first day of October, so M.E.L. 3000 is getting into the spirit of the #halloween season by doing some #jasonvoorhees cosplay while listening to the #fridaythe13th score on audio cassette.

Hoju BOOlander @hojukoolander.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I spent my October eve watching the original #fridaythe13th while building this year’s model of #jasonvoorhees for our yard display. I’m satisfied with the results 😁

Gathering up Halloween decorations and found the Frute Brute box from a few years back. Always hated this art style they used. Into the monster cereal graveyard it goes.

For those seeking more info on M.E.L. 3000, here is the LEGO prototype that will surely be all the rage on the BrickLink Designer Program in the near future. As for those desiring a fully functional M.E.L. 3000 for their own home, our safety testing is ongoing.

After months of toiling in my “underground lab”, it’s time to finally unveil my greatest creation: Meet M.E.L. 3000 or “Music Enhancement Liaison”. 3000 being the hours it took to create a body that could house the A.I. or “Audio Intelligence” within. You’ll get to know M.E.L. in weeks to come 🤖

Got a smokin’ deal on these #80s hair metal cassettes at my local record shop today. Gonna pretend I’m spending the weekend on the Sunset Strip floating between the Whiskey-Go-Go, The Roxy, The Troubador and hanging with Lemmy at the Rainbow 🎸

I was so excited to finally get this in the mail. It’s KISS live, raw and rockin’! Best of all it was a concert recorded where I grew up in Orange County, I spent a lot of time in Anaheim. Granted, I wasn’t born until 6 years after the event took place.
