A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 12: Masterpiece Star Saber This is as close as we are ever likely to get to a Soul of Chogokin Transformer. It is a straight update of the original toy and it’s an all-timer because of it.

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 11: The 2023-2026 Fan Book core class repaints. The yearly Transformers Fan Book releases are…interesting. The books are full of puzzles and games aimed at kindergartners, but they include toys that appeal to adult collectors. Fun toys, tho

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 10: Age of the Primes Big Convoy An extremely solid action figure-focused update on the Beast Wars NEO leader. IMO an underrated toy that is just a ton of fun to play around with

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 9: TakaraTomy’s Star Wars crossover Darth Vader’s Tie Fighter Finally, an answer to what those 2005-ish Star Wars TFs would be like if they were slightly more detailed and like triple the price? Well, the answer is…this thing.

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 8: Legends Ultra Magnus (with Alpha Trion). I passed this up on release because I wasn’t into Minimus Ambus being repainted into Alpha Trion. While I’m still salty, this is a REALLY solid IDW Ultra Magnus figure.

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 7: Legacy Evolution Metalhawk This is an excellent Transformer with what may be the single most disappointing paint job I have EVER seen on a TF figure. It looks terrible! At best, it looks “unfinished” and that “gold” color is just awful.

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 6: Power of the Primes Rodimus Unicronus (AKA Rodimus Cron) This was already a pretty great toy as Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime but THIS really does it for me. It is metal AF, from the death metal logo chest icon to the remolded head that is clearly LEMMY 🤘

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 5: TMNT Crossover Party Wallop When the crossover stuff works, it REALLY works, doesn’t it? A very nice representation of the Turtle Van (or Party Wagon, if you’re nasty) that turns into a great turtle robot (that really should’ve been Metalhead, no?)

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 4: Legacy Evolution Armada Universe Optimus Prime A heckin’ chonker in an era where such things are becoming more and more rare. While the jettisoning of gimmicks can often hurt a toy, this big boi benefits big time!

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 3: The TakaraTomy version of Animated Voyager(?) Optimus Prime with the accessories from the “Wingblade” release. TakaraTomy’s release of the Animated toyline did not fare well at domestic retail, but the toys were absolutely freakin’ incredible!

It’s already October and I think this set may wind up being my favorite #Transformers release of 2026.

Dramatic Capture Series RotF Optimus and Jetfire

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 2: Jetfire from the Dramatic Capture Series “Jetfire Combine” set. Much like his counterpart in this set, Optimus Prime, the eternal glory of Jetfire see a tremendous paint upgrade from his original Studio Series release.

Having failed to sell/trade that sun-damaged MP Star Saber for over a year now, I think I’m ready to just throw out the box and put the figure in one of my bins. It’s an extremely fun toy and, sans box, he doesn’t take up THAT much space.

It is wonderful to *finally* have a fantastic looking RotF Optimus Prime in manageable size. The original leader class RotF Optimus was an absolute revelation and this gives me a very similar feeling that one did 15+ years ago. This is brilliant, and I highly recommend it ❤️

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 1: RotF Optimus Prime from the Dramatic Capture Series “Jetfire Combine” set. This is the Studio Series release given an absolutely stunning new paint job that finally has the figure living up to its full potential.
