Honored to be included in this video message articulating the connections between Jewish history/culture and humane treatment of immigrants. We, too, were strangers.

Compassion in Crisis There is great pain & fear in the world. Each crisis deserves full attention, care, concern. There are orgs working on each issue but it is not enough. Here is a partial list of problems that have my attention/compassion; you have yours and may not agree with all of mine! /1

We thought it couldn't get worse than two young people murdered outside of a Jewish museum to the words "Free Palestine." Then it got worse: a group walking to remind people in Boulder, CO that Israeli hostages are still being held in Gaza was attacked with flames, hatred, and "End Zionists". /1

If even Trump is willing to say that people are starving in Gaza, then maybe it's time to let food in for the civilians. Hamas is evil, but one doesn't have to be evil to fight evil. www.foodaidforgaza.org

Why we can’t panic over every bill filed by random state reps or senators, no matter how inflammatory the bill subject or article headline. They use up our outrage bandwidth & distract us from real threats that actually make it out of committee to floor votes, where real fights should be.

DT’s Gaza proposal = disaster: for Palestinians facing exile above all, also for Israel, “the jooz” (who will be blamed), the US (nation building??), morality, future. When W. Bank annexation follows, idea of 2 democratic states becomes 1 anti-democratic reality. Historic times, in terrible ways.

Very happy to hear news of a Gaza-Israel ceasefire and hostage release agreement - now hoping that a) it happens; b) it sticks to enable negotiations for stage 2; c) that results in the end to the current conflict that many of us have wanted for too long.
