"Between March 2020 and May 2024, Parkdale’s supervised consumption site had 14,409 visits, made 11,678 referrals to community services, and reversed a total of 819 overdoses while also providing much-needed low-barrier healthcare, pathways to treatment, drug-checking services and a place to discard drug use equipment.

If the Ontario government’s decision to close Parkdale’s supervised consumption site stands, people who use drugs will die or suffer traumatic injury as the health services they rely on are shuttered."
