Happy Easter to all who celebrate. We hope your weekend is as scrumptious and delightful as the chocolates in this image, which were manufactured in the Chocolate Novelty Department of the MacRobertson factory in Fitzroy, sometime around 1920-1930.

This wax doll was likely made in England in the mid-19th century. She probably doesn't come alive at night and roam the archives. But just to be safe, we've constructed a new box and will be securing her in our basement storage. #HistoryVictoria #AntiqueDoll

Did you know North Melbourne was called Hotham from 1859 to 1887? Just one of many fascinating details in Fiona Gatt's new book "Old North Melbourne". We were thrilled to host the launch last week, with Professor Andrew May introducing the author. #VicHistoryEvents #HistoryVictoria #NorthMelbourne

Today marks 81 years since D-Day - Operation Overlord. Over 150,000 Allied forces, including 3,300+ Australians, launched history's largest seaborne invasion. This 1941 air raid pamphlet reminds us of home front fears. We honour those who sacrificed all. #DDay #HistoryVictoria #MilitaryHistory
