Dr. George Keyworth held the first of the 7 Nights of History talks: “Unsung Heroes: Reinventing Kusunoki no Masashige (1294-1336).” He discussed the politics of memorialization and the reimagined legacy of Masashige as part of the invention of the Japanese imperial line by the Meiji Emperor.
