May 1813, the heavy frigate USS Chesapeake faced the frigate HMS Active and the brig HMS Zenobia. The Yankee had been raiding in the Mona Passage when Royal Navy cruisers from Antigua caught up with her. Chesapeake got the better of it, hitting the Zenobia with a devastating bow rake. #spreadthelard

The USS Chesapeake, my first 1/700 ship, is finished. She's done up as she appeared when she sailed out to meet the HMS Shannon in 1813. She now awaits a base so she can sail onto the gaming table. Glad I stuck it out with the running rigging. #spreadthelard #thefullnelson #navalwargaming.

Very nearly there with the USS Chesapeake. Only the running rigging and Ensigns to go, before sticking her on a base and calling here done. We've got our first playtest game this coming Thursday. After shes done, ill be working on thr HMS Shannon. #spreadthelard #thefullnelson #navalwargaming

What good is a bandwagon if one cannot jump upon it. USS Chesapeake nears completion, and then it will be on to her most famous opponent, the HMS Shannon. 3d Turner minis print. The question remains, do I paint up some teeny little sailors and marines. #thefullnelson #spreadthelard #navalwargaming

Expanding my forces for GDA2, two battalions - Marie Louises of the 21e Ligne and veteran troops of the 72e Ligne are getting there. A few more highlights then they can join the basing queue. Gorgeous AB 15mm sculpts. #wargaming #spreadthelard

A brace of Aides de Camp completed for GDA2 - all the gorgeous AB 15mm sculpts. The chap in red is from Berthier's staff, quite the fancy uniform. I'll be basing these up as a batch with a few other units i've almost finished - Cuirassiers and Marie Louises. #wargaming #spreadthelard

After many a year, the old AB Napoleonic French have taken the field once more against my mate Steve's Anglo Dutch in a test game of General d'Armeé 2. Seems excellent thus far, I'm loving the focus on command and control and the ADCs, or should that be AsDC? #wargaming #spreadthelard #GDA2

Fresh off the printer, a troop of Sherman IIIs for my 15mm Mediterranean Brits. Every image I found had them stowed to the gunwales, so thats the look I've aimed for. They'll be painted up in a nifty Italian campaign mud/blue black scheme for O Group and BG Torch/Italy #wargaming #spreadthelard

Work has commenced on my first big project of 2026 - 15mm British forces for Tunisia and Italy. I'll initially be doing up enough for Battlegroup, building up to a full O Group force. Pretty happy with the infantry test scheme, and with my kitbashes of the Churchill NA75s. #wargaming #spreadthelard

Well, Cancon 2026 Lard Zone is a wrap. Running our O Group 'Last Train to Krupki' game was great fun. In both games the Soviets kept thr pressure up, but were ultimately unable to bypass the German blocking positon. Thanks to MJ, Tim, Martin, Jeremy, and everyone else who joined in. #spreadthelard

Just finished reading this absolutely marvellous book. Cameron is the master of historical fiction. However, I now find myself wondering about @roundwoodsworld.bsky.social 's Flashing Blades rules. Just imagine, a campaign set in a venetian back alleys of renaissance Venice.

Table set up for some O Group tonight. Scenario is set during Bagration, with elements of 5th Panzer Division attempting to set up a hasty defence against oncoming Soviet spearheads and stop the encirclement of Minsk. #spreadthelard #ogroup

After only four years, my gaming room is finally up and running! Evie helped to set up the terrain for the inaugural game, though I did have to reduce the number of unicorn paddocks and princess beaches prior to a test game of O Group with my mate Steve. #spreadthelard #ogroup #wargaming

Wiyh Cancon only a few months away, and with baby Freddie taking up a fair bit of time, its time to get working on plans for my participation game. First off, some Panthers, which I modified to add crew and the unditching beams seen on the Wiking's Panthers. #toofatlardies #spreadthelard #ogroup

Now, ill be posting the usual gaming stuff shortly, but I thought, what better way to get started here than to introduce my baby boy, Frederick James Fiene, a week old today! Evie is so excited to be a big sister!

'I'm your huckleberry.' A freshly painted Doc Holliday ventures out from the ole Saloon looking for trouble. Trouble would find him in the form of Shallow Hal, who gunshot him in his first game of What a Cowboy. The curse strikes again! #spreadthelard

First post on here. On the workbench at the moment, some cowboys for WAC, and a bunch of 20mm resin printed British armour. I'm particularly proud of the Firefly IC Hybrid, kitbashed it myself using blender.
