Thomas Newick and Sarah Kemp are my 4x great grandparents. They left quite a legacy because I have come across a few people who have descended from them

Here is my latest tour. Stocksbridge was important in the 19th century for its production of steel. The arrival of Samuel Fox in 1842 changed every aspect of this community #Genealogy #BritishHistory #LocalHistory youtu.be/W8KWSLO9BZA?...

@findmypast.bsky.social Find my Past allow you to search by name AND location which has been essential for my research. Honestly I recommend it to everyone. And tick the box for the name variants!!

This is my #SixGenerations chart. Mostly British ancestry, with a couple of outliers - USA and Indian born to British parents.

That is brilliant! Do you know what she did there?

I love finding strong women in the tree, they endured so much, I agree they are inspirational. I have an ancestor who was widowed and left to raise 10 children in Ireland during the potato famine, she was evicted from her farm and became a political protestor. late 19th century 🙌🏼

That is a lot of photos! You are very fortunate, I have photos of all of my great grandparents but not many beyond that

I use Libby through my library and can borrow audiobooks. I have been able to “read” so much more over the past few months as I do chores, exercise etc 👍🏼

My mum used to have a clipping for the most amazing chocolate cheesecake, we all went crazy for it as kids, but I think she must have thrown it out at some point. Is there something from those recipes you miss?

I’m not far from Bolton upon Dearne if you ever need something looking up. My great grandmother was born in neighbouring village Wombwell

Hello #genhour I had a difficult day today researching the grandparents of a client. One of her grandfathers drowned in a river and his body wasn’t identified for 3 months. Usually people want something shocking in their tree but this is heartbreaking

A reminder on #OnePlaceWednesday that You Tube can bring up some amazing results for your #OnePlaceStudy. Seeing Cuckfield from a different perspective than walking down the streets is just one example. #Genealogy www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5zg...
