A small pleasure with a big impact. It fills me with joy each morning to see a dozen sharp pencils on every table in the rehearsal hall. In what other line of work besides theatre are you gonna get these beautiful sharp pencils every day? Thank you Stage Management! 🥰

Super proud of my work as Oda Nobunaga in Assassin's Creed: Shadows! This was my 1st major mo-cap role & it was a trip to see how far the tech has come. Having said that, it's good to know they still need flesh-&-blood actors to give voice & life to the CGI. May it always be so!

Forgiveness Day 1 at Stratford's magnificent Tom Patterson Theatre. Even having dreamt of something like this, I'm still overwhelmed by the enormity of the moment.

Happy New Year from snowy Sapporo! Braved the crowds at Hokkaido Jingu, had a delicious grilled squid, found a little shrine off to the side that spoke to the quiet in my soul more than the big one with the crowds. Wishing you all health, happiness & prosperity in 2025!

I've flown in & out of Narita for years & never explored the area. Glad I did this trip w my daughter. 20 min from Terminal 1 is the 1000 yr old Shinshoji Temple. The Omotesando leading to it is as delightful as any such street in Japan. Highly recommend if you have a layover at Narita!

Remembering my long-time agent Robert Carrier who passed away just before Christmas. I signed with Robert in the early Nineties and have been with Carrier Talent ever since. Here he is with my son, Niko, soon after Niko was born. Such a beautiful gentle soul! R.I.P. Robert Carrier! 💖

Big thanks to both the Vancouver Asian Film Festival & the UBCP/ACTRA Awards for the opportunity to celebrate our industry & community. In these challenging & uncertain times it's doubly important to celebrate, with old & new friends alike, & reaffirm the joy we find in the work & in each other. ✌️♥️

Privileged to present at the UBCP/ACTRA Awards just now, celebrating the BC Film industry. We actors don't get to see each other at auditions like we used to, so it was great seeing all the old troupers and catching up!

Proud moment when my boy made his UBC Thunderbird debut under the Friday Night Lights two nights ago, huge accomplishment for a freshman to make the field on a team vying for a championship! Half my DNA and a whole lotta parenting in this young specimen of manhood! Go T-Birds!

Blessed to live in beautiful BC. Yesterday was like summer, full of sun and wildflowers. And if you're ever on the BC coast and have an opportunity to eat mussels from Lasqueti Island, they are the fattest most succulent mussels you will ever have!

We have eggs! Also, today I learned that in Japan and other places where people hang their clothes to dry, the crows have learned to build their nests out of wire clothes hangers! What a rare opportunity to learn about these ubiquitous yet uniquely marvelous creatures!

000

Hiro Kanagawa @handle.invalid · 25/04/2024

Neither of our crows has actually spent much time in the nest they built, but this one's been sitting here in the rain all morning. I think she's laying her eggs!
