A stressful start and end of the first day of our Eid Al fitr holiday because of the sound of loud bangs. Received 3 emergency alerts 5.30am, midnight, and 1am. Thankful for spending the day with family and feeling a bit of joy+comfort despite the stress. Eid Mubarak, and may this damn war go away.

Since Feb 28 here in Dubai, daily emergency alerts (sometimes multiple) on our phones, sounds of explosions of intercepted missiles/drones, more and more distressing news from across the region. Also, countless Dubai bashing articles, underlying racism in many of them, and plenty of fake images.

Don’t think enough people in Dubai know the new restoration of Jonathan Demme’s STOP MAKING SENSE is screening in Dubai for one night at 6pm this evening. Just got back from travelling and found it it listed on Vox Cinemas’ website. Looks like it hasn’t been marketed properly.
