I shot the first pic of a pair of red legged partridges out our living room window. I sat down at my desk and hear my wife holler, "Good girl, Jitka, good girl!" Jitka (her standard poodle) had actually caught one and gave it back to her when she asked her for it, see second pic. It's free now.

My wife's making kebabs for supper, so I set to making a tzatziki sauce recipe I learned from a Greek fella who shared his grandmother's recipe. Here's my process; I needed olive oil, vinegar, yoghurt, salt, white pepper, shredded and finely diced cukes, drained, garlic and dill.

Today's post workout brunch: poached eggs, black pudding, haggis, tomato halves sauteed covered, face down in olive oil and garnished with chive and mushrooms sauteed in butter and lemon. I'm eternally grateful to Britons for teaching me to have tomatoes and shrooms for brekky!

My new brush cutter/strimmer, before (fresh out of the box), and after, (assembled by me). It's so heavy that you wear the motor with a padded backpack, the flexible section of the strimmer reaching around you. Those two blades cut the fnck outta brush. 'Bout to get the garden into shape.

I love the fact that SO many restaurants, bars and hotels here are dog friendly. When we were having a beer in The Crofter's Rest, I shot this pic of their "Dog Menu!" Then, when we were dining in Fishy Fishy last night, one of the servers popped off and brought back a sausage for Jitka!

Fridays post workout brunch: a Spanish omelette, (the Spanish call them tortillas!) made with diced green onions, chillis, double Gloucester cheese with onions and chives, Spanish chorizo and of course, potatoes. I seasoned it with ras el hanout and had a side of cherry tomatoes.

This was hanging up in the Whitebridge Hotel where we stopped for a few pints the other day. It's a member of the tuba family called a helicon, a precursor to the Sousaphone, named after it's inventor, march composer John Phillip Sousa. VERY interesting, indeed!
