Real literary agents NEVER ask for money, and we almost never reach out to authors personally. Any unsolicited email claiming to be from an agent should be looked at skeptically even if it doesn't directly ask for money. 2/2

Some things I'm hungry for are: In MG: ✅Interactive, interesting format, & illustrated books!! Bonus if there's humor and a structure for the "scroller" kids. ✅Adventure, Quest, and Mystery books (with or without SFF). ✅Oddball stories (like ANIMORPHS) that hook into things kids are interested in.

Authors, I highly recommend this read on the state of the market with the added note that I see a “track” that’s gotten attached to debuts as well. Publishers are increasingly looking for debuts to bring marketing platforms w/them (be this via the authors’ social media, fanfic platforms, etc.) 1/2
