There is a very specific cadence to LLM writing which becomes increasingly obvious the more one sees of it.

Yes! And that gives responsibilities but in a mostly shame free sort of way?? I think we should really lean into this word choice

Added benefit: “Stewardship” used to be a word with a heavy, sacred weight to it in many Christian communities so that gives extra gravitas and legibility for a significant portion of the population

I think it’s entirely expected that they would considering how much crowing early AI boosters did on X about AI replacing writers & artists. I agree that it is too soon to know definitively what the consequences of AI will be for writers & artists but culture & meaning making seem safer than others

LLMs are such a weird concept for us humans because imo getting the best results out of them nearly requires a “Theory of Mind” for them and *yet* it is simultaneously incredibly important to to not think of them as entity w/sentience, or even really an “entity” in our typical understanding of such

Also, blue books are not like ancient technology. I was a TA decade ago and that was how most exam for my department were done. I realize a decade is a while but it still lived memory for most of the teaching staff even if not for the undergrads

👀 “Article VI, Section 9, of the Virginia Constitution gives the legislature unlimited authority to set the retirement age for judges.” Virginia law provides VA Dems a simple solution to overturn the state’s rogue scotus’s redistricting ruling - retire it - and then appoint a new one.

How Virginia Democrats can overturn the redistricting ruling: Retire the Supreme Court
The state Constitution gives lawmakers complete latitude to set the judicial retirement age. They should use it.

I think LA is also being held back by insufficient public charging paired with few people having garage parking than stereotypes would assume.

I really do believe that the growth if single women in their 40s becoming first time moms point to a very feminist partial mitigation strategy that neither the left or right (for obvious reasons) wants to notice

I grew up in a *very* libertarian milieu so this tension/awareness is always in the back of my mind re:regulation However, imo Warren’s argument that billionaires pose an existential risk to democratic gov is also highly persuasive (look at the role of Musk et al in Trump 2.0)

A unit in my condo was remodeling & between a ton of inspections that required building wide fire alarm tests?? & accidentally setting it off it went of once or twice a week for over 3 months and I thought I would lose my mind. If I had to deal w/what you describe it would be my entire personality

I really feel like fire alarm tests are a much larger driver of the preference for single family housing than a lot of the “yes dense housing!” Crowd acknowledge. They were 100% the worst part of living a condo
