Hilde De Weerdt @hildedw.bsky.social · 11/09/2026No, other than that this attack was unrelated to the first, not much has been disclosed on the attack itself. 001
Hilde De Weerdt @hildedw.bsky.social · 11/09/2026No private information from authors or editors was obtained in this incident. As for the Journal of Chinese History, we expect that Firstview articles will be somewhat delayed but the next issue should appear on time in January 2027. We will keep you posted should there be further repercussions. 020
Hilde De Weerdt @hildedw.bsky.social · 11/09/2026This incident took place in early August and is unlike the earlier incident from 2 years ago. It mainly affects production and online retail. CUP set up a production flow to publish more articles per week than normally so that the current backlog will have disappeared by mid-October 2026. 100
Hilde De Weerdt @hildedw.bsky.social · 11/09/2026For those who submitted articles or book manuscripts to Cambridge University Press recently: In late August CUP wrote that they had suffered a second cybersecurity incident. It is therefore not possible to order books from CUP online. At a meeting for editors yesterday I learned the following: 2105
