I haven’t seen the final minutes but my understanding is it was amended (both before the meeting and also at the meeting by Trustee Fraser) to remove references to DPAC and to being “disruptive.” The more general issue of respectful communications was referred to committee.

Perhaps trustee “workflow” should focus on improving access to inclusive education instead of trying to squelch freedom of expression. Then maybe the trustees wouldn’t get so many letters from disappointed parents. 2/2

In April, hundreds of parents wrote to VSB trustees about the lack of funding for inclusive education, as part of a DPAC letter campaign. In response, ABC trustees are trying to shut down DPAC’s ability to communicate with them. No wonder parents in Vancouver are so disheartened. #vsb #bced
Text of a proposed motion:
THAT the Board direct the Chair to write to the Vancouver District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) | Executive to express concerns over disruptions caused by the manner of communications being sent from
DPAC to trustees, including the sending of mass form-letters from the administration emails;
AND FURTHER THAT the Board direct the Chair to write to the DPAC Executive with respect to the Board's gagement processes with DPAC within the scope of DPAC's statutory mandate;
AND FURTHER THAT the matter of developing and/or updating guidelines for respectful and non-sruptive stakeholder communications be referred to the Policy and Governance Committee for consideration.

7. Deleting the tweet was a good start. Now do this:
 🔹 Apologize to every parent who emailed you— publicly & by email
 reply. 🔹 Apologize to DPAC
 🔹 Meet with the Inclusive Ed Working Group
 🔹 Listen. Collaborate. Advocate. /8

Trump’s administration is dismantling disability rights and education. History has shown this can be a warning sign for all civil liberties

Measles is on the rise in North America, which increases unvaccinated people’s risk of being exposed to the disease. If you can’t find an immunization record, speak with a family doctor to determine next steps. @michellegamage.bsky.social reports.

That makes the BCCDC ‘quite worried.’ How to check if you’re protected.
