I'm not a kid and am a native whose been in 49 states. I've always seen it as a Badge of Honor. Outside of the foreign trolls, which attack on EVERY post Newsom makes on any platform, I know the Americans doing it are driven by fear and are easily manipulated by those who want to keep them down.

I don't know about the stats but I do DV against men is way more common than what we hear. "Don't hit women" is (rightfully) driven in to heads of boys and there's women who will take advantage of that. And men are WAY more reticent to report it because they don't want to look weak. It's a thing.

And to say false accusation are rare is either disingenuous or uninformed. Ask a Family Law attorney how that plays out in divorce and custody hearings. Because my friend the lawyer said it's as common as not. "I was afraid he would touch the kids" means Dad loses custody until he proves innocence.

This case is turning in to another in a long line of examples where people leap before looking because they want to extrapolate it out to a larger issue. And when that happens everything becomes very black and white. No nuance. And "us vs. them" takes hold. It's entirely counter-productive.

I'm in the mountains and we almost hit a record high. Probably will during this stretch. 104 in L.A. is not an October thing. Used to be able to breath a sigh of relief around wildfire this time of year. No more. This looks like it will a record breaking stretch. With no correlation to El Nino.

Just to toss it out there, SoCal is a big place. Vast deserts and big mountains. Where I am, where it'll be in the low 40's tonight, we get real humidity during monsoon season. Not today though. Dry, hot and October. Wish there was humidity. Fire risk is very high which means power gets cut.
