We had a great tidy up event this morning starting from Pond Square. Quite a lot of long-term rubbish behind bushes meant we were able to fill a lot of bags. Thanks to everyone for the help.

The Highgate Society’s monthly litter pick took place around the area of The Park, just off North Hill. Veolia’s van turned up just as we were finishing and collected our rubbish straight away. We found three dumped number plates which will be reported to the police.

We had a great tidy up event yesterday next to the Heath, where we were able to deal with quite a bit of the rubbish that ends up being left behind plants and bushes. Thanks to to all the visitors to the Heath who gave positive feedback.

To mark The Highgate Society’s 60th year we had a litter pick plus. Our usual litter pick but in addition cutting off plastic tags on posts and fences. Above is a sample of some of the tags we collected and Pete, a new volunteer, won the prize for collecting the largest number.
