The results are far removed from Sylvian’s original, and instead soundtrack that Mediterranean moment when, while you’re sipping a cool cocktail, sunset slips into twilight. Copy by Dr Rob higherloverec.bandcamp.com/album/red-gu...

Coyote complete the package with a deep, dubby, and very groovy remix. A version that finds the White Isle veterans echoing everything around a chugging, pumping heartbeat-like thump. Congas cascade, fragments of fretwork flicker, grounded by room-shaking bottom end.

@davidsylvian.bsky.social 's Red Guitar was the first record I ever bought with my own money. Over 40 years later I am super excited that our Balearic cover version with Maya Blandy is now available on Bandcamp. higherloverec.bandcamp.com/album/red-gu...

The rather fabulous reimaginings of David Sylvian’s “Red Guitar” by @pmco.bsky.social are now “live” on the likes of Qobuz, YouTube and that Spotify The best way to support, of course 👇🏼

Transforming the tune into a sunstroked, mid-tempo bump. The keys are rolling. The B-line roots reggae. The fretwork matching jazzy, cool and breezy electric with strummed acoustic. Sexy, spoken Spanish baritone narration countering Maya Blandy’s ethereal lead vocal. OUT NOW linktr.ee/higherloverec

David Sylvian released the song ‘Red Guitar’ in 1984. It was his first solo single since leaving the band Japan. Over 40 years later, Puerto Montt City Orchestra returns to Higher Love Recordings with their radical reinterpretation of ‘Red Guitar’.

Absolutely brilliant new mix from @higherloverec.bsky.social just been uploaded. May be slightly biased about the opening track but actually thought Arto - Querida & Dicky Trisco - Automatic Lover were the standout tunes. Well worth a listen🥳 www.mixcloud.com/balearic_ult...

Complaining about nightlife when you *checks notes* choose to live in Soho is like living in South Kensington and complaining about the museums. Or moving to Hackney and grumbling about creatives. Living in Richmond and hating green space. It's all getting a bit silly, isn't it?

Reform UK can’t catch a break. In just six weeks, the party has somehow managed to lose nine of its newly elected councillors. How many more will it lose to incompetence, infighting and shoddy vetting? Read our newest blog: hopenothate.org.uk/2025/06/13/d...
