Ragwort is often demonised as an unwanted weed, particularly as it's poisonous to livestock. But now most of the flowers are over in the park , its providing food for cinnabar moth caterpillars, butterflies and - there was a bee but it flew away 🤣

A band of volunteers from Birmingham University spent last Sunday planting trees near the railway line which will eventually obscure the ugly fence and view over the track. The trees are a mix of pollinators and other small British trees which will be good for the park's ecosystem.
