Utterly heartbreaking that this is what we've come to, but Greater Manchester Asylum Hotels Group have written a statement to respond directly to the concerns and questions they’ve heard from local communities. @gmiau.bsky.social Please read, please share.

Just had the privilege of being in a room of wonderful people, with a phenomenal piece of #interactivetheatre, and the most compelling thing a room full of wonderful people can possibly be given: A MYSTERY BOX. Fantastic as always @ontroerendgoed.bsky.social ontroerendgoed.be/en/projecten...
Pieces of a slightly ripped cardboard box, saying 'Handle with Care - A performance from Ontroerend Goed'

Not spreading this too widely, but we're holding some industry sharings of our newest show 'The Cost of Everything' at Camden People's Theatre on Weds 19th Feb @ 7pm; and HOME, Manchester on Fri 28th Feb @ 2pm & 5pm. This is invite-only, but if you're a friend of the company, do drop us a message ❤️
A vivid, colourful theatre poster showing a group of small figures trying to fix a broken city while a giant hand takes from a large pile of money at the top. The poster advertises industry sharings for a new production 'The Cost of Everything', created by Hidden Track Theatre, and showing at the Camden's People's Theatre on Wednesday 19th February, 7pm; and at HOME, Manchester on Friday 28th February at 2pm & 5pm. The poster also displays awards and 5-star reviews from previous productions.

A personal favourite from @wondermark.com Feels particularly relevant within the recent resurgence of benefits bashing.

Fellow political writers/theatre makers, how do you deal with this problem? Our recent shows have involved a lot more research, talking to experts, and getting into the nitty gritty. But of course the more detail you get into, the more you risk alienating audiences and sacrificing fun/silliness...
A two-panel political comic. The first panel has someone holding up a placard saying 'End the problem' and someone else responding 'It's not that simple'. The second panel has the first person holding up a different placard saying 'How to end the problem' followed by lots of lines of small print. The second person responds 'I'm not reading that'.

Here's the thing when politicians talk about 'slashing the welfare bill'. It's always in the abstract. It's always spoken of as a big lump sum, expressed in billions. There's very rarely talk about which individual benefits are too generous. Let's look at how much people are actually entitled to.🧵

While Sir Kid Starver takes the brave, grownup decision to attack vulnerable benefit claimants again, worth dropping this little chart. (Also worth a reminder that Starmer consistently underdeclares official gifts given to him in office. Like a sort of... fraud declaring the benefits he's given.)
A graph comparing figures of estimated money lost yearly in the UK to Benefit Fraud and Benefit Errors to the amount of Benefits unclaimed (almost 20 times more) and the amount of Tax avoided, evaded & uncollected (around 120 times more).

An image of a piece of interactive theatre, where two teams dressed in opposing colours are building buildings from blocks, throwing balls at each other, and hiding behind shields underneath a giant scoreboard.
