Remembering Tim Curry by rewatching a personal childhood favourite. The writers gave his character, Ben Ravencroft, a brilliant mix of deadpan humour, earnest character beats and some honest-to-goodness spine-chilling dialogue!

I appreciate the uk government sending out a warning about the risk of wildfires, but it makes it apparent there needs to be like a secondary sound for national warnings that aren’t the same super loud klaxons they’d send to your phone for an inbound nuclear strike, good grief!

Some lore for my 'Kelvin Timeline'-themed character in Star Trek Online. I'd do ALT text, but character limit :/ I should sort out somewhere to dump these in text format at some point. #StarTrekOnline #StarTrekAOS

Following Klingon Empire's loss of Narendra Colony to the Romulans in the 2340s, the successful B'Rel class was adapted for the larger ambitions of the century. Post-Dominion War, the K'Vort class would be further iterated upon through the 2380s & into the 2410s #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

Although sporting fairly revolutionary power-conservation technology for its time, the Constellation class was quickly rendered obsolete by leaps in existing tech. Some would stay in service for their expanded flight deck, but most were left by the wayside. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

Already seeing people defend this with "but 90% of sales are already digital, what are they SUPPOSED to do?" As if game corporations haven't been looking for ways to stamp out the second-hand market for years. Also means you will have no backup if a game is delisted. Inherently anti-consumer.

Oh good, another way for the industry to get less consumer-friendly. I'd seen that the physical release was going to be delayed from the digital release, but I'd missed this. Thanks for filling me in

The Crossfield class was built to test new propulsion tech; putting a lot of eggs in that basket, Starfleet mass-produced some Crossfield components. When both prototypes & their inventors were lost, the components were incorporated into Damocles utility frigates. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

First built in the mid-25th century, the Fa'tum class merged the strengths of the M'Chla & B'Rel designs. In the 31st century, a cataclysm that put the Klingons in a diaspora left decommissioned ships unscathed, leading to many Fa'tums seeing action again. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

As successful as the BortaS class was, it's sheer scale made it expensive and impractical. In 2410, several Negh'Var battlecruisers were refit to the BortaS' standards and reclassified as Negh'Tev-type to affordably keep the Klingon fleet up to modern standards. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

Although, as with many of their designs, Starfleet's 'supercapital' Odyssey class was designed for exploration, it was a cause for concern for the Klingons when war broke out in 2405. The BortaS class was an enormous ship designed to echo Starfleet's biggest. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

With the final production block of the D7, referred to as the K'Tinga subclass, Klingon engineers were able to find a balance between the strengths of the first two waves; retaining a lot of the armour of block II, but regaining most of the firepower of block I. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

A very ambitious design for the time, the D9 was significantly larger than any other contemporary Klingon vessel. Although it excelled on a technical level, it proved far too costly to build en masse, resulting in the D7 remaining the poster-child of the Empire. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

The second production block of D7s utlised the ceramic-based hull plating that was commonplace throughout the Quadrant in the 2260s, also taking the opportunity to reinforce weak areas of the first run of the class, but sacrificing some firepower in the process. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

The Nautilus class in #StarTrekOnline is quite intriguing. A contemporary of the Enterprise-J, it's meant to be an iteration on the TOS Daedalus, but instead of having the spherical command section, it has a more traditional saucer embedded in the hull and the bow looks to have minimal habitation🤔👀

The Noble remaster in #StarTrekOnline happened to be announced while I was in series 4 of a Doctor Who revival series rewatch, so it gave me an idea to name ships of the class after companions! 😅 The status of each ship is also meant to loosely reflect said namesakes. Tomorrow, #StarTrekOnline will replace this 16-year-old model with a fancy new reimagining. The designs from when the game launched are janky & (understandably) shunned, but even so, whenever a remaster is slated, I like to give the old ones a sendoff 🫡🖖 Farewell, Noble Class. #VirtualPhotography

With the NX class in operation & providing data to Starfleet on practical applications of new tech, the 'Navy Vessel' (NV) type was designed as a more robust, standardised model that could fulfil a wide variety of mission profiles for the burgeoning new space age. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

The poster-child of the early-United Earth Space Probe Agency, the 'Navy (e)Xperimental' (NX) class was an iterative design project to push the limits of humanity's spacefaring technology. These ships are widely credited for turning the UESPA into a 'Star-Fleet' #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

The 'Navy Patroller' Class was initially designed as an escort for unarmed freighters. Although underpowered, even for the time, its low cost to manufacture made it the backbone of the United Earth Space Probe Agency fleet during the Earth-Romulan war. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

One of the most formidable ships in known-space in the 2150s, the Suurok Class was the epitome of Vulcan starship design. Performing both scientific duties and the less-savoury espionage endeavours that the Vulcan High-Command had been endorsing at the time. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

The pride of the Andorian Imperial Guard in the mid-22nd century, that Kumari was a 'hit and run battlecruiser'. Three ships of the class were donated to the United Earth Space Probe Agency during their war with the Romulans, despite Andoria remaining neutral. #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

Following the loss of the Enterprise-C at the hands of the Romulans, Starfleet scrambled to design the Interceptor Class to go toe-to-toe with the new Romulan ships. Fortunately, there were no further instances of "Romulans and Starfleet shooting at each other" for decades. #StarTrekOnline 1/2

After the Enterprise-E was left at the Bassen Rift without the assistance of Battle Group Omega, Starfleet designed the Ortiz class as a fast-response frigate. Though far from a warship, it would be able to even odds in engagements while other ships were scrambled #StarTrekOnline #VirtualPhotography

Oh good, 'Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown' has developed the same kind of Community as Undertale, where people will berate you for not magically knowing the 'best', optimal route to take on a first-playthrough 😒
Reddit:
"Losing doctor on away missions is nbd you should have a dozen heros (sic) by that point anyway.
In fact perfect play requires you to skip this mission entirely as you burn the emitter on recruiting ONE instead.
TLDR; Stop whining about nothing!

Reply from post's OP:
I mean, having chosen to save the emitter instead of recruiting One, and the Doctor being a main character, I feel it's kind of a loss?
