It is VERY simple: if a property changes hands for a fee and not through inheritance, stamp duty will be paid within 30 days at the rate determined by the CX. That's one sentence, not 20 pages of close type containing a thousand caveats. If you want to simplify tax law, HMG, start right there.

Whether it looks like sour grapes or not, Prime Minister, even one £36m donation is excessive and it disproportionally skews arguments. You must stop it now. Cap donations. Allow them from entities present in the UK for at least 5 years continuously, exclusively resident for individuals.

The purpose of having a strong defence force is to protect the lives of the country's citizens, isn't it? If there are no citizens, defence is pointless. The r/w view is that only people who can manage are worth protecting. It's neither patriotic nor moral to protect only SOME of the population.

Iceland is not in the EU, but it is a member of the Schengen area. It’s also a member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and is part of the Single Market, meaning it enjoys freedom of movement with the EU. Good to know that doesn’t impact their independence. Maybe we should try it, Nige.
