In the last 15 years or so, the one year I didn't get the flu vax, I got the flu and missed a week from work and was so sick my husband wanted to take me to the ER.

I've never had any reactions to flu or RSV vax except for maybe a bit of soreness at the injection site that went away very quickly.

To recover, I treated myself with some chicken soup and a pint of strawberry ice cream, a Tylenol and watched some Netflix before I fell asleep and I went to work the next day feeling fine.

When I got my first COVID vax, as soon as it was available, I didn't even get a sore arm. But my 2nd one knocked me out but only for about 12 hours, I had chills, body aches and tiredness but it was much less severe than if had gotten COVID.

I got my $90 Medicare Part B premium rebate on Wednesday. The next day I got a deposit for $162 from SS for a onetime adjustment and going forward an $18 per month increase in my SS because my 2015 wages were not accounting for when determining my benefits.

With the move, everything that could go wrong does. That and my mother while helping me pack, finds embarrassing items like a vibrator (that really happened but it was my niece) or empty liquor bottles and haven't had a drink for over 20 years.

More recently my recurring dream is about moving, moving into or out of my parent’s (both deceased since the late 90’s) or with my niece who I did live with for a time, but I’m my current age.

The other was the wild animal dream, in or trying to get into the house, sometimes a bear, sometimes a lion or leopard and like the tornado dreams, I have to rescue everyone in the house, again mostly children and pets. But I've never lived anywhere with bears or lions or leopards.

From when I was a kid, I’ve had some recurring dreams. One was the tornado dream where I see the tornado coming have to get everyone, mostly children and pets to the basement, the dream ending just before it hits. FWIW, I live in PA not Tornado Alley, so I blame The Wizard of Oz.

If any one of my SS payments was missed or even late, it would have been a disaster for me. The apartment management where I live charges a $50 late fee after 5 days and will file with the court for eviction if not paid by the 15th.

I went back to work FT because I have no other choice. Without that paycheck, I'd be evicted from my apartment because my SS is not enough, and I can't afford to break my lease early and the cost to move to a cheaper place + a deposit and 1st month's rent, so it's been a catch 22.

I cashed out my 401k, and a good friend loaned me some money a couple of times and that kept me afloat for a time, along with getting EBT and heating assistance, but my monthly income vs only necessary expenditures, was still in the red.

I recall going to work early one morning feeling extremely tired. When my boss came in and saw me, he noticed I looked very pale and asked if I was OK. Just a bit of a sore throat I said. But very soon I became very ill.

They also sometimes confuse the common cold or even seasonal allergies with influenza, while some symptoms of a common cold are similar to influenza, a cold comes on gradually and resolves in a few days but influenza comes on suddenly and will knock you out for much longer.

I contracted influenza a couple of times and it lasted more than a week and with high fevers, chills, severe body aches, headaches, extreme fatigue, deep lung congestion, and once also with diarrhea vomiting on the first day.

I’ve had this discussion with friends and family members who swore they got the flu from the flu shot. They sometimes mistake the sometimes-normal flu like, but often mild symptoms from the vax that only last a day after a vax for influenza.
