Municipal planning can be complex, so we're breaking down the basics. The municipality uses different planning documents to guide growth and development. The Suburban Plan is the new community plan being developed for Halifax's suburban communities. Why does this matter?
A series of blue and green informational graphics about the Suburban Plan. The cover graphic has a stylized illustrated map of Suburban Areas marked with icons. The icons represent housing, businesses, parks, transportation, cycling, accessibility and services. The text reads: What is the Suburban Plan and why does it matter?"What is the Suburban Plan? A community plan that will help guide how suburban communities grow and change over time."

The graphic has a photograph of waterfront.Illustrated map of Halifax's suburban communities. The text reads: Where is the Suburban Plan area? Communities outside the Regional Centre with access (or planned access) to municipal water, wastewater and transit services. A diagram showing different levels of plans: Regional Plan, Community plans and Land use by-laws and Subdivision By-law.
