A friend requested Black Forest Gâteau for his bday. Quite proud of the cherry filling I made and the chocolate curls!

Squatting into the weekend.

I finished French so it's just daily refreshers with a quest of, Finish a unit. Which is just tiring when the refresher is the same content. So yeah aside from looking for in person classes I'm just genuinely curious if there is another app that's useful to try?

Does anyone have any app suggestions for language learning? I've decided to quit Duolingo after the constant gamification of the app. It's frustrating to tap through chests to get "Rewards" when I just wanna learn. Any suggestions would be grand! Also looking into actual in person learning.

I lied. Had to go to my folks. So had one final farewell and put the smoker out to the curb. Ribs and sausage were pretty damn good!

You're in for a treat! Honestly, felt really intimate given the fact the venue was packed. But it's just her and two band mates so it's all focus on her. Great set list and she was great at interacting with the crowd

Off to a BBQ where gear was encouraged aaaaaaand it's too warm so this is all they get from me

Dan @heythatsdan.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I like when it's quiet as I can have access to things. But when it's busier I also like it as I am slowly seeming to make friends/acquaintances. So it's a bit 50/50. Empty? Just me. Not empty? A nod, a smile, a, "Hey, how are ya? Legs today?" etc.

000

Dan @heythatsdan.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I don't think so. I'm kinda going off it as they keep raising quest points. I currently need 70 for September and it's not exactly encouraging me to do more

Went to the gym and it was terribly quiet today so I got a good round in on all the machines

Dan @heythatsdan.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

Gym was awfully busy yesterday and had to use this new squat rack. Shockingly, my legs aren't jelly today!

Dan @heythatsdan.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

My BBQ was at my folks, they're moving and I've recently moved too. So it was time to give it a rest til I can buy a new smoker!

Dan @heythatsdan.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

Final BBQ of the year. This was the best brisket and pulled pork I've ever made. So this was a solid send off.

Weekend consisted of trying to get out of a bad funk So made a bang up dinner of, Mezze maniche all'amatriciana, Caesar salad, Red wine and Cornflake crumble brownies.

070

Dan @heythatsdan.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

White chocolate and Cornflake crumble cookies Tbh the dough could have used more chocolate and cornflakes. But! Pretty damn good regardless

Dan @heythatsdan.bsky.social · 17/07/2026

So I've completed the French course on Duolingo and am going over sections to "Perfect" said lessons. I'm much better at reading but does anyone know of any apps or courses to help with actually talking?
