That first season (especially the first episode with the timer!!!!) does SUCH a good job of being so intense and stressful and compelling And then the rest of the show also happens

Kaneeka is SO GOOD. Usually I play visual novels and there's only one character I'm into. In Scarlet Hollow, you're spoiled for choice. Everyone is SO good, and interesting, and well-written they're all worth their own playthrough.

I've been teaching myself to knit! Part of stepping away from social media more has been giving myself more creative fun things to do rather than doomscrolling mindlessly. This blanket is still a WIP, and I may never do anything more elaborate, but making something with my hands is so rewarding.

It's something I've included in all my work contracts, and advise the folks I work with to do the same. You unfortunately cannot always trust folks, especially external companies you haven't worked with before, to honor their word if they tell you they won't use it.

SKALD is super good if you're into turn-based, strategic combat and old school fantasy with a little (or a lot) sprinky-dink of horror throughout. Plays pretty well on Deck too!

This sort of scummy recontextualizing of facts to make them fit the narrative Google wants you to read is exactly why I was so annoyed when they renamed Google One to AI Plus; so they could say they have so many AI Plus subscribers, even if it's ACTUALLY folks whose old plan was converted/renamed.

In terms of voluntary developer uptake, they recently claimed that “over 99% of [Play developers’] apps have been registered” suggests that ADV is somehow a popular and widely-accepted dictate. That couldn’t be further from the truth: those 99% of developers were auto-opted-in without their informed consent due to being already bound by their Play Store agreements.

Nice to wake up this morning and check my feed at my PC and see that my decision to uninstall all social media from my phone last night was the right one. I kept Discord so I can be reachable for work items, but I'm probably going to throw an after-hours lock app on that one.

This sucks. I have so many older games that I can only play BECAUSE I have the physical disc for them. They're not legally available through any other means. This increasing shift towards only digital licenses to your things (books, movies, etc) that can be revoked or lost at any time is horrible

LinkedIn is so rough. I try but I open it and I can't read it because my eyes are forcing themselves shut in self defense.

Like, I can and do stay updated on world events through other means. Nobody needs to be this accessible to everyone else all of the time. The value social media provides has plummeted compared to the harm I find it does. What is it offering me beyond constant psychic damage?
