So curious what happens now. CW is that his failure to be "recognized" for previous big swings (e.g. Magnolia, Born on the 4th of July) caused Cruise to go to his safe space of MI and Top Gun. Consensus seems to be that he gives a good performance in service of a bad movie. Does he keep trying?
