Holiday on Saturday(!), shops will be closed

Just a notice to anybody who is not aware of it or a reminder to those who knew it but have forgotten:

Saturday 8. March is a public holiday in Berlin (International Women's Day). Supermarkets and shops will be closed. Restaurants and Cafés however will most likely be open. Just like on a regular Sunday.

So if you were planing on going groceries shopping, you should do this today or tomorrow (or drive/take the S-Bahn out to Brandenburg, where it is not a holiday).

Gut so.

Krasser Drop..
Washington Post subscribers quit the paper en masse following owner Jeff Bezos’ decision to withhold its endorsement of outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris. But the Post’s audience problems extend beyond angry former subscribers.

Over the last four years, web traffic has cratered. According to internal data shared with Semafor in recent weeks, the Post’s daily traffic last year reached a nadir of just a quarter of what it was at its peak in January 2021. That month, the Post had around 22.5 million daily active users. But by the middle of 2024, its daily users hovered around 2.5-3 million daily users.

Last year, Washington City Paper noted that the Post had stopped publicly disclosing its traffic numbers in press releases, after a 60% decline in monthly traffic. On Friday, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Post’s revenue fell from $190 million in 2023 to $174 million last year.

Before WordPress, there was PHP Nuke. You would simply download the ZIP file, unpack it, upload it via FTP to your web server, and voila Good old times. In 2001, I created a website about 2-Step-Garage Music using PHP Nuke. Then, in 2003, WordPress came along, and I switched soon after 💔

Cool. If you still have Ivory on iOS, you can also add your Bluesky-Account using skybridge.fly.dev (Ivory looks more polished than the official Bluesky-App)
