An exchange of sophistries #oc #art #drawing #ocsky

A black and white drawing of a man with dark hair dressed in baroque/rococo-inspired clothing holding a champagne flute.

A small wisp of red smoke or miasma emanates from his nose - it expands into larger tendrils floating around him and appears to coalesce into the form of a small red horned imp-like creature floating to his right.

The man’s expression is stern but perhaps intrigued, as his narrowed eyes regard the creature.

The creature is turned to the side to face him, with a clawed hand over its mouth as if whispering in his ear. Its visible eye has two pupils, one meeting the man’s eyes and the other focused on the viewer.

How it feels to suffer from intrusive thoughts #makeaterriblecomicday #makeaterriblecomicday2026

Comic contrasting “what people think intrusive thoughts are” (featuring 3 people saying “I could dye my hair teal”, “let’s buy something I don’t need” and “I wonder if worms talk to each other”, respectively) and “actual intrusive thoughts” (4 panels depicting an oblivious smiling imp-like creature following a person around to make disturbing comments as they go about mundane tasks. Panel 1: The creature asks “what if you ate that battery” as the person is changing the batteries in a TV remote, Panel 2: the creature asks “what if you tripped and fell on this open oven door” as the person is cooking, Panel 3: the creature asks “what do you imagine meat from a human tastes like” while the person reads a book, Panel 4: the creature asks “do you think anyone in this airport has ebola” as the person yells “nobody likes you”)

Every damn time

A two panel sketch comic. The first panel is of a person’s wrist wearing a heart rate tracking fitness watch, which is emitting various congratulatory messages around attaining an extremely high amount of - it assumes - exercise-related activity. The second panel is of a person’s face with a thousand-yard stare, and a caption indicating the “activity” is actually elevated heart rate on account of PTSD symptoms.

(PS: The person is me.)
