Next Black Woman I reported to was jealous. And again, I don’t understand jealousy, so that confused me. The Black Woman after that was concerned I was trying to take her job, but was always out on FMLA leave. Like girl? You protected by the Civil Rights Act AND ADA. Shut up!

First Black Woman I reported to forgot to handle my insurance enrollment paperwork (it was a non-profit). That lady was very apologetic, but called me dramatic because I was like, “So… you want me to die? What did I do to you?!”

My best Managers to date were the two White Men I reported to. My experiences reporting to other Black Women have not been positive. It’s funny (sad) because all of my direct reports always say they’re surprised I’m a good Supervisor/Manager. Because their experiences with other Black Women sucked.

I remember when I was like 11, I was in a store with my Momma and realized we were being followed. So I pulled my hand into my sleeve and started hollering I couldn’t steal because I didn’t have two hands. The Salesperson got scolded by an older white man. And my Momma had to hold in her laughter.

Apparently, a Friend is mad at me. Lol They called me to vent because they felt their sibling was being unfair about something. The sibling was venting about needing a break and my friend was like, “We all have a lot going on.“ The sibling is a caregiver for their parent.
