2025 has been an incredible year for me. While all the work I’ve done is in the background of the scene, that plans to change soon, real soon. Below is my reflection on this year. The things I’ve done, and what’s next in early 2026. (That I can reveal at this time, there’s always more with me!)

2025 Reflection: A Year of Opportunity
I’ve done many things in my lifetime. None of them have given me what 2025 has given me. This year I got into the staffing side of the Splatoon scene. Earlier in the year I was granted the opportunity to stream for IPL. From there I started streaming Swim or Sink. After seeing how awesome it was to provide a service to the community, I applied to be a script writer at Splatoon Stronghold and promptly forgot about it after a week. Suddenly, around June, I received a DM from someone named “Radha” who wanted to talk to me about my application. After a long interview I was accepted. After a while, when Stronghold leadership saw my passion for both content and Splatoon, I was promoted to the Content Lead of Splatoon Stronghold, where I now get to create major productions and help bring competitive Splatoon to so many others. Around the same time as being promoted to Content Lead, I found Ckk, one of the founders of BEEP, on Bluesky. I reached out to him earlier this year as well. After we talked for a while, we had a shared vision of content, a different side, one that wouldn’t be a fit for Splatoon Stronghold. He gave me an opportunity. Since then I’ve worked on the backend for pretty much all of the BEEP videos besides Splat Chat. I got to go to a LAN for my first time with Ckk as well, where I was instantly put on stream duty. This scene is something truly special. I’ve found a real passion for bringing this game to others. I can only hope it changes someone else’s life as much as it changed mine. If this year was any indication, next year I’ll do things that current me could never even dream of. Thanks to everyone I met this year, I look forward to continue working with you all. For now, I’ll have to leave you with this.

Two projects that I have poured my heart and soul into should be released in January.

One of them is for the Splatoon Stronghold channel. It’s been in the works since late August, it’s (I believe) the biggest collaborative effort the Splatoon scene has seen, and will ideally inspire more people to make content. It’s the first ‘Stronghold Production’ of many. A title that, over time, will hopefully carry meaning and weight behind it.

The other is for the BEEP channel. It’s been a WIP since early November. It plans to invite a new age of storytelling into our scene. This project is one that will tell the tale of one of Splatoon’s longest standing teams, how they got to where they are now, and the challenges they’ve faced along the way.

I hope you all look forward to seeing them! But for now, I must retreat back to the desk, for there is still much more to do.

I was sent this screenshot from a player I used to coach. She was stuck in A+, used to tilt super hard, and would always rush in solo. It took about 6 months of coaching, and now she is doing better than ever. It’s not about the player when they start, it’s about where they can be when it’s over.
