Either way, I've never felt more validated about my career choices. At least when I waste time, I'm not expensing it. Full episode where I try (and fail) to make a CIO cry drops today. Link in comments because algorithms HATE happiness. 👇

In our latest Between 2 Servers clip, I asked @gantlaborde.com what captaining a tech ship is like, and he just... confessed? To EVERYTHING? This man is either extremely secure in his job or has ZERO filter.

POV: You finally corner a tech executive and force him to EXPLAIN what CIOs actually DO all day. Turns out it's "taking notes" at conferences and "wasting company money" — his words, not mine.

At HeroDevs, we’re actively working with key CVE program stakeholders and other cybersecurity vendors to chart the path forward. As we wait to see what the future of the program looks like tomorrow, we stand firmly behind the CVE program and are committed to ensuring its longevity indefinitely.

(2/3) Programs like CVE and CWE are foundational to software security and national infrastructure. If they falter, the ripple effects could be massive—for businesses, developers, and critical systems everywhere.

(1/3) Like many in the developer, cybersecurity, and open source communities, we were stunned by the news that MITRE’s funding for the CVE/CWE programs may expire as soon as tomorrow. #mitre #cve #cybersecurity

Now see… this could be a good debate…

Anti-Hero? More like anti-reasonable-timeline. Catch me in the bathroom having a corporate version of the You Belong With Me breakdown, except instead of "she wears short skirts," it's "they set short sprints." 💅 Props to @eduardoroth.bsky.social for the meme. #programming

6/7 Oh yeah, we also settled the great peanut butter debate. Because when you have a JavaScript legend on your podcast, you ask the IMPORTANT questions.

Codey @ HeroDevs @hero.dev · 22/01/2025

5/7 PSA: His light mode defense might actually convert some of you dark mode zealots. We're as shocked as you are.

100

Codey @ HeroDevs @hero.dev · 22/01/2025

4/7 Made him play "Fork, Star, or Deprecate" and unlocked his VERY strong opinions about tabs vs spaces. Spoiler: You're probably doing it wrong. (We definitely were.)

100

Codey @ HeroDevs @hero.dev · 22/01/2025

3/7 Quick flex: Before Jordan was rewriting JavaScript specs, he taught Excel to his teachers. In 8th grade. While we were learning long division, he was debugging education.

100

Codey @ HeroDevs @hero.dev · 22/01/2025

2/7 Because Jordan's built different, we got stories about: • The TC39 proposal that sped up JavaScript (oops?) • Why "company sweeper" should be on your LinkedIn • Advanced cat debugging techniques featuring air dusters • The spiciest light mode defense you'll hear in 2025

Codey @ HeroDevs @hero.dev · 22/01/2025

1/7 INCOMING: We launched a podcast where actual humans talk about keeping the internet from catching fire. First guest? Our own @ljharb, who casually maintains 500+ open source projects while making your JavaScript faster. (No pressure for episode 2...)
