I imagine Peter refusing to listen to reason, at least for a VERY BRIEF moment. Like an addict begging for his next shot. Imagine him having a similar debate as in Spider-Man PS5, with the symbiote itself: “You said YOU *chose* me. YOU make me a better Spider-Man!”

The piece of symbiote left in the MCU latches onto Peter. As the story usually goes, he loves how much it makes his life easier. Better yet: he loves that he isn’t alone anymore, that he gets to talk to someone again. He eventually can’t bring himself to let go of it.
