WIP Wednesday 2/2 🐺 Untitled HoTD fic 🐲 (Jacegan, A/B/O, modern)

It takes everything in Jace’s power to keep from physically recoiling as Alpha Stark slowly, gracefully, rises to his full height, long dark hair giving way to a pale skin and steely grey eyes; a square jaw, lined with a short beard which does little too conceal his tight, furious frown.

“Jace Rivers,” he says, undeniably cold, as his eyes drag down Jace's body. Jace quickly tears his own gaze away, and keeps it cast low, the way he knows he ought to. “I don't believe we've met.”

Fuck.

“No,” Jace swallows dryly, voice little more than a whisper; nearly drowned out by the sound of his own blood pounding in his ears. “But I know who you are.”

There are few, even outside of the ruling families across the continent, that have not heard of Cregan Stark, and his tempestuous rise to power in Winterfell. But despite his circumstances and his youth, he’s said to be a great leader – just as was his father before him.

Jace is inclined to believe the rumors. But however much the northern pack heads might sing his praises, the fact remains that Cregan Stark is not his father. He was only a pup himself when Viserys died, and Jace and his family were forced to disappear. He swore no oaths of friendship to them – made no unspoken promises of protection. And Stark or not, Jace knows he can’t trust any Alpha with strong ties to the Targaryen pack.

“Do you, now?” Stark practically growls.

He takes a few slow, purposeful steps closer as Jace bites down hard on his cheek. “Interesting, then, that you didn't see fit to treat with me when you first set down roots in my territory, uninvited. Two months ago, was it?”

“We meant no disrespect, Alpha Stark,” he tries, fighting the urge to flee. Cower. Vomit. “We – I had my reasons.”

Stark scoffs. He’s close enough now that Jace has no trouble picking up on his bitter scent, or the mud and salt on his boots. Close enough to tower over him.

“Good ones, I hope, for breaking centuries of pack law.”
He doesn't yell – desn't even raise his voice – but Jace still flinches like he's been physically struck.

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

“I-I promise I can explain everything, Alpha Stark,” he says, soft and placating, and a bald-faced lie. Jace has nothing satisfying to offer him that wouldn't incriminate them all; blow the cover they've worked so hard to preserve since Mum and Daemon sent them here. It's why Jace never sought Stark out in the first place.

The best he can hope for now is to buy a few hours to get Joffrey away from here, pack up their cabin, and get on the road before Stark’s peacekeepers come knocking. With any luck, Luke's car will hold out long enough to get them to…somewhere else.

“If you would just let me take my brother home –”

“That's not how this works, I'm afraid,” Stark snaps.

WIP Wednesday 1/2 🤍 Rope Burns ch 9 🤍

“Okay,” Jimin finally says, far more chipper than his flared nostrils and the tense line of his shoulders would suggest. He fixes Jungkook with a stern, unforgiving glare, crossing his arms and jerking one thumb over his shoulder. “Nose in the corner.”

Jungkook blinks, shocked out of his…well, his tantrum, for lack of a better word.

“What?” he croaks, mouth suddenly very dry. His stomach flips anxiously when Jimin simply arches a brow.

“I think you’ve had more than enough warnings today, don’t you?” he asks rhetorically. “In fact, you’ve been on pretty thin ice all week, haven’t you baby boy?”

And yes, he has, but –

Well, no one's ever actually –

He's still only scened with Taehyung and Yoongi and Namjoon, and they've chided him a few times to be sure, but it's never come to this –

His face burns, tears inexplicably stinging at his eyes as Jimin stares him down, clearing his throat impatiently.

“But I…”

Jimin raises a hand to his ear, making a soft, mocking sound of surprise. “Oh? Is that an argument I hear?”

It's...it's mean.
