Ok so Mikuru is definitely Anna’s MOM 💀 Murayama broke the yuri pattern I guess

Star Detective PreCure: Anna’s mom in 2027

Star Detective PreCure: Mikuru in 1999, who definitely looks like a younger version of Anna’s mom so this season’s yuri is cancelled 😔

Granted this movie’s fantastic & gorgeously animated regardless, but the extra lens really ties it all together. Brings me back to 2011 finding hastily translated songs that expressed how I felt better than my own words. It’s rewarding to see the community expand & connect so much since then

000

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

Being in the Vocaloid community has been rough this past year with all the discourse about “slop” and trends and the divide between JP/western culture but this movie feels like the perfect reward for remaining involved for over a decade now

I still feel that Nana & Kokoro should’ve been more involved in the ZK arc, but they did come through afterwards to play off the new additions (well, re-additions) so I’m happy! I can’t say I’ll miss this season overall, but I’ll miss these girls

010

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

And finally as a group…they were solid! The main trio made for a silly friend group that lovingly supported each other, and the duo addition felt natural in a way that not every season has achieved. You could put any two of them in a room & the chemistry would still hold up!

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

Seriously, gem of the season. I do admit Meroron being aggressive towards the team felt a lil drawn out but tbf that came after a beautifully selfless act. Her & Nyammy would get along great over their protectiveness making them hesitant to join the whole team

110

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

Ahem, I mean her character growth was beautiful & I was happy to see her open up to everyone & yuri & her dramatic poetry was hilarious & her backstory about being born from darkness was fascinating & yuri & yuri–

DOOMED TOXIC YURI QUEEN WE LOVE YOU

110

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

I’m not as critical towards her stagnation as with Kokoro cause I honestly see many avenues to go with her (especially since the writers ignored her wrecked home half the time). She worked well with the rest of the group and was downright hilarious at times. Plus the ZK arc was awesome so yeah

110

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

Ngl I’d argue Purirun’s writing also became nonexistent after the ZK arc. The first half showed her to be a ball of energy (& hunger 🤣) sure, but she was also headstrong, dependable, & fiercely loyal. After her arc, she sorta defaulted back to just the energy & being more air-headed than anything

110

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

Also remember when Purirun & Kokoro were close bc they both loved fan culture & Purirun literally scouted her? Guess the writers didn’t cause she had like nothing to say during the ZK arc…let me move on

120

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

Shame bc there’s a lot they could’ve explored. It was clear from the start she felt less qualified than her peers, and I was hoping they’d show her slowly gaining more confidence in herself. It was touched on towards the start, but post-ZukyoonKiss it’s like they forgot about her 😭

120

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

On the flip side, the writers must pay for Kokoro. Debuted with so much depth only get turned into the kyun-kyun catchphrase machine 🫩 Ain’t even let her redeem a villain like the previous two, just skipped all development to randomly make her an influencer in the finale whatever

120

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

Also slightly off topic but the animators randomly decided to make her one of the coolest shield precures of the franchise at the last minute and I’m not complaining

120

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

The writers did my girl Nana dirty in the first half but in the end they came through! I love how kind yet stern she was towards Zakkuri during his redemption, and I’m always a sucker for a secret goof. Wish they gave more time to her piano stuff later on, but what we got was great

120

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

That said thank GOD I never have to hear her insert song’s melody again, they really should’ve had her switch between a few songs if she was gonna sing EVERY episode 😭 Still love how the song was incorporated into her character and interactions tho

110

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

It’s no wonder Sakura became an official idol during the timeskip bc she’s adorably charming. She’s bubbly like any other pink lead, but she’s also very dependable in tough moments. I love that her resolve always remained strong, even when she had to contend with Purirun’s memory loss

110

HereforPreCure @hereforprecure.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

Now that You and Idol PreCure (aka kimipre) has wrapped up, it’s time for an unnecessarily long thread about my thoughts on the team, both individually and together!
