12 minutes in, and Yan Diomamde vs. Alex Freeman has been pretty exciting. The athleticism in this matchup. . 🔥 #USMNT

Herculez Gomez @herculezg.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Two draws. Two losses. Zero wins. A disastrous first window for Rafa Márquez. Yes, Mexico was missing key players, but they’d be 39, 34, and 34 by the next World Cup. And somehow, the player they missed most was teenager Gilberto Mora. Not the start Rafa wanted.

Herculez Gomez @herculezg.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

A frustrating, uninspiring 1st half from 🇲🇽. The pressure on Rafa Márquez is already very real, & that feels unfair. This window should be about evaluating talent, not chasing results. But the fed, media & fanbase are getting anxious. And with Mexico, patience never lasts long.

Dream window for the #USMNT. 🇺🇸 Four games. 13 debuts. 8 teenagers. Four debutants with goals. 12 goals scored. Two wins over South American opposition. And clean sheet wins over your two biggest regional rivals, Mexico & Canada. New faces. Young talent. Big results. #USMNT

Self inflicted was the name of tonight’s movie. Tala Rangel with two terrible mistakes, Fidalgo and Campillo with their own, and this boneheaded moment from Chavez. The Mexican media will be all over Rafa Marquez after no wins in 3 and this 3-0 loss.

Herculez Gomez @herculezg.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

11 goals scored in 3 matches vs two South American teams and Mexico. 12 debuts handed out so far, and 4 teenagers scored goals. Among them, this gem from Cavan Sullivan, who becomes the youngest ever to score for the #USMNT.

Herculez Gomez @herculezg.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

In two matches against South American opponents, you see 11 different debuts and goals scored by new players like Justin Ellis, Julian Hall, and Mathis Albert. It's not been the prettiest two games, but it's been very productive. #USMNT

Julián Hall is still raw but shows good movement and a knack for scoring. He’s found himself in some excellent positions tonight. 2-2. The game is all even after a Gio Reyna assist. #USMNT

You kids wouldn't believe me if I told you, but the goalkeeper position for the #USMNT was once its strongest and deepest. Players who started in the Premier League, La Liga, and Bundesliga...

Sebastian Berhalter finishes well off a Julian Hall dummy. I can't think of any player who has improved more for the #USMNT over the last 10 months.

4-2-3-1 #USMNT Chris Brady gets the start in goal. Raines, Mehmeti, and Berhalter your 3 in midfield? Dest and Reyna double 10’s. Julian Hall up top.

Herculez Gomez @herculezg.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Gilberto Mora, take a bow! Great run and reception, then cuts past Lucumi and buries it for the equalizer. Rafa Marquez’s side is coming to life.

Mexico has been the better team against a very experienced Colombian side in this first half. Created four quality chances but was punished the one time Colombia threatened. Chucky is active but overzealous, got in the way of Hormiga’s best chance. #Mexico

This first half for the #USMNT looks like a bunch of guys who’ve never played together. . . It’s going to be chaotic. I understand. Individually, there needs to be more pride in defending. That’s not just about tactics.

4-2-1-3? Matt Freese in Goal. Trusty & Cambell CBs. Musah and Adams back together in midfield. Tillman, Reyna, and 16 year old Cavan Sullivan pulling the strings under Ellis. #USMNT

“I’d love (for my team) to play like Barcelona, but the raw material isn't there. We need to be realistic about where we're starting from. I have to adapt to what I have.” - Rafa Marquez Mexico National Team Manager This for some reason is a polemic statement to many. ¿Really?

Chucky Lozano and German Berterame are a bit of a head scratcher, neither has been performing at their best or even close to it. Santiago Sandoval and Camberos getting a chance, along with the progress of Gil Mora and Obed Vargas, should excite many people.

Heavy youth movement in Pochettino’s September & October camp led by players like Cavan, Hall, Mehmeti, Albert, & Gozo. Pulisic OUT, not surprising considering his limited involvement w/ Milan after injury. Musah is back! Deserved. Ream is phased out. Solid roster. #USMNT

There are reports circulating that Folarin Balogun's move to Everton is in jeopardy. The domino effect of Flo remaining at Monaco impacts the future prospects of both #USMNT and the Mex National team. Erik Lira’s transfer to Monaco could be off with Balogun occupying a non EU spot.

Chucky Lozano to LA Galaxy. LA Galaxy fans aren’t too happy with their FO again. They probably won’t be much happier with this but they need something. That’s for sure. It's a far cry from the team that lifted the MLS Cup just a few seasons ago. #LAGalaxy

Chucky Lozano is 31 yrs old & hasn’t played since MLS postseason last year. DP status, & how much of his $9M salary is being paid? He's a strong personality in the locker room. A big ask regardless of the sponsorship $ he could bring. Would Galaxy fans welcome Chucky? #LAGalaxy

Regardless of the “buyout” or clause in place, if that’s the ‘excuse,’ you’re prioritizing finances over the sport.

FIFA abandons plan for private equity. Gianni Infantino clearly sees the writing on the wall as many of his closest allies turn against him. His seat is no longer safe. What side of history was your federation on? Hold them accountable. Your voice clearly matter$.

Private equity would likely mean more commercial inventory. Higher ticket prices. More advertising. Longer tournaments. More competitions. ⚽️ The game becomes increasingly driven by shareholder returns rather than what’s best for the sport.
