You’ll be able to have a companion with personality, needs, moods, and a relationship that grows through the time you spend together. Pick up your Familiar Kit from the Herb & Fable booth at The Horse & Pony Show, open 1–30 September. Inside are two linkable objects—simply attach one to your pet and begin your journey together. Your familiar will have six living attributes: **Prana, Hunger, Thirst, Wellness, Happiness, and Connection.** Hunger and thirst fade over time, and neglect can ripple through the rest of their wellbeing. Keep them fed, watered, groomed, and entertained, and they will thrive, while helping you earn Nature and Connection XP when you wear your H&F Meter. But don’t worry – Herb & Fable familiars have been designed to NOT be an extra pressure in your life. They will never die and they will not require that you attend to them every day. You can log off with them attached on in your inventory and they will not get more hungry or thirsty while you’re away. This is much more than simply a care routine. Your familiar’s mood shapes how they speak to you, and their needs may affect whether they feel like playing. A happy, well-cared-for companion will build a stronger connection with you; one repeatedly allowed to fall unconscious may find that trust harder to restore. There is room to learn, too. Feed your familiar the right pet-safe produce, draw (free) water from Centauria’s wells, tend to their needs, and earn badges for your first bond, daily care, play, grooming, and even healing. Mistakes can happen—and in Herb & Fable, learning to make things right is part of the story. You can care for up to five familiars, each with their own needs and relationship to nurture.
