After giving it some time, this is absolutely my favorite song of the fall. It seizes me every time I hear it. I love it so much. Thank you @orindal.bsky.social Records. Also, read reviews by @jenpkelly.bsky.social, who did one for this album. "Driving slow / to a bridge / I kinda know / where."

Genuinely think Owen Ashworth's Orindal Records have a pretty untouchable track record. This latest, from Helena Walker's Herbal Tea is a woozy psychedelic dream-folk treat, with shades of Linda Perhacs or a more pastoral Grouper. It's so lovely I don't even mind that her group is called Herbal Tea.

Herbal Tea’s Helena Walker bills herself as a folk artist, but her latest album hews closer to the slowcore 1990s dreamscapes of artists like Mazzy Star, Mojave 3 and Cocteau Twins. The artist, out of...

"In the age of self-promotion, where artists are expected to constantly shout loudly for your attention, herbal tea seems to be playing her own game, a slow burn, a gradual progression, an artist willing to wait for you to find her, and one who will definitely be ready for you when you do."
