#KITE Insta-Analysis: US-EU Deal – very uneven effects across member states! Winners include Malta (+0.5% real production), Cyprus and Slovakia (both +0.2%), while Ireland (–0.9%), Luxembourg (–0.7%) and Belgium (–0.3%) lose substantially.

As Trump imposes 25% tariffs on Canadian imports, this would be a good time for the EU Member States who haven’t done so yet to finally ratify #CETA. I’m looking at Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Poland, and Slovenia.

After what‘s happened in the White House yesterday, it‘s more urgent than ever for Europe and the incoming German Government to act fast. Please sign and share this open letter to the incoming Chancellor, drafted by Economists for Ukraine.

World-changing tariffs? The impact of the ‘reciprocal’ tariffs proposed by the US is significant for the EU, but not shattering. Differences across member states matter! 1/2 @wifo.bsky.social @gfelbermayr.bsky.social
