This is bad, really bad. tl;dr --> The #Worcester Diocese was ready to simply transfer a priest accused of misconduct before a social worker, a mandated reporter, alerted the state. The kicker: This wasn't in the early 2000s, this was in 2021. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/10/07/m...

Holden once tried to fine people for not removing political signs after an election. I called the Town Manager and said, "I've never had 1 on my property, but by tomorrow I'll have 20. Come and get me." He must've gotten quite a few calls like that. The policy was revoked tout de suite.

FWIW, when the framing of the issue tends toward the extremes, i.e. "The cops were rampaging" or "The protesters were wildin'," I tend to think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle, as it most always is.

IMO, this leaves only 2 possibilities: Either the conduct wasn't as bad as police and city leaders said it was, or WPD was just arresting people at random, most of whom, according to the D.A., could not be convicted of anything even if the cops wanted it badly enough (see: Haxhiaj, Etel). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
