30,000 words in 9 days. Then CFS comes a-knocking, ending my streak. Man, chronic illness is a bitch of a writer's block. I had plans, body!

I wrote 8000 words last night. Pray for me that streak continues!

Not writing related but my little fluffball turns 1 today. ❤️

One CFS flare up later and I've hit almost 65,000 words. Writing is a lot harder these days but I'm determined to get this book written!

I've been looking after a very ill puppy this week. He's now feeling better, but the chronic fatigue crash I'd been putting off has finally hit. Nausea, dizziness, shortness of breath, extreme chills and, I still wanted to finish my chapter. Pleased to say I've hit 50,000 words - I sleep now.

It’s Book Week Scotland and to celebrate, I’m giving away a signed hardback copy of The Heart of Winter, my reimagining of a Scottish myth about the seasons and the gods who embody them. Like and repost to enter, winner will be selected at random on Friday, 22nd Nov. Open worldwide

Cover of The Heart of Winter by Shona Kinsella. A woman with long, plaited red hair stands with her back to the viewer, between 2 mountains. She wears a long, green tartan skirt. Flowers and vines grow around her, from her, through melting snow. She stands above a triskele

Folk horror writer and poet @stephellis.bsky.social asks where all the older women are in fiction—especially in horror, where the evil crone stereotype dominates, and especially in folk horror, which centres so much on fertility. britishfantasysociety.org/a-womans-wor...

When you're on the cusp of a CFS flare, 300 words is enough for one night. You can always try for more tomorrow. #amwritingfantasy #ivattwrites

1700 words of my WIP done, plus 1200 words of another novel that popped into my head. Is it bad to write two projects at once? Maybe three... Asking for a friend.. 🫣👀 #amwritingfantasy #ivattwrites
