Love this game. I was in contact with the author as an excited teen telling him how I'd love go put a fresh coat of paint on it. He was a lovely man. Sadly he has passed I believe. I grew up to become a pixel artist. I always think of Digger fondly and play it once in a while. Also, Popcorn!

It'd be really cool if the camera keeps steady like this on the vertical so you basically play Doom I/II combat with a natural limit of the autoaim distance being where the horizon caps off on the camera angle, it creates natural horror. Camera work is horror.

I was such a fan of Solar Winds when I was a kid, I only saw SCII in the abandonware days and my mind was blown. In SW the long treks in space were exquisitely lonely, I just set direction and listened to CDs. I feel this solitude in the screenshot. Your colors for the ship are great DOS colors.
