They make a very cool prototype and took it around to funding partners to try and get funding, but unfortunately there were no bites. So the tough decision was made to wind down the studio.

Just to give you a bit of context here, toward the end of Wanderstop's development, I was dealing with extreme burnout that had claimed much of my mental and physical wellbeing. I made the decision to step down from studio leadership, and to allow others on the team to take over creative direction.

This is a bizarre question: what year did Cotton Eye Joe become super popular in the US? My memory tells me I'd never heard it until about 2002 when it suddenly became a staple of every school dance and birthday party, so I was pretty confused to just now learn that it actually came out in 1994.

Can you clarify what you mean by "communicating features"? There's some fun stories of peoples' computers crashing while playing TSP and they think it's part of the game, haha. Currently I hate all bugs in Wanderstop! But once I have some distance from the game I think I'll appreciate them more 😆
