It's far easier for me to develop a spin-off series from Series 1 and write really awesome standalone thrillers with characters I already have a feel for than writing a standalone thriller completely from scratch. I've done both...but in-verse feels a lot easier and more satisfying all of a sudden.

Realized this week that a massive dimension was missing from Series 1, which is the conspiracy/mystery element related NOT to the main cast, but to characters from the past, my so called "prequel characters" who dont have a massive physical presence in the book, but whose past influences EVERYTHING.

I almost wish I could just give this character series NOT related it to series 1. Change her name, and let her exist without knowing where it ends. But I also know that so much of the ingenuity in this character's design and her new prequel series is coming from her connection to Series 1.

Their romance is even MORE complicated than the romance between my Series 1 protags, and trust me when I say my Series 1 protags can COMPLICATE the heck out of a relationship.
