I just wish there wasn’t so much money to be made fear mongering. Sure, many people are afraid of the unfamiliar, but I’m convinced that it would be easier to help people get past it without people stoking those fears for a profit.

Difference is, half the potential audience weren’t in danger of getting locked up for failing the paper bag test. People can ignore a lot of immoral things if they aren’t personally affected…

Watching some myself. Pity the guy who played Hathaway in the sequel turned out to be such a bellend; I understand that series is almost as good.

If only he’d stop throwing minorities under the bus for political expedience. I’m genuinely grateful to live in a constituency that neither Tory nor labour can win, because I can vote for a party that doesn’t consider the comfort of terfs more important than the safety and dignity of trans people.

I didn’t have any issues, having never read the book. It doesn’t spell everything out, as I recall, but everything I needed to understand what was going on was there.

A lot of British tv is like that. Incidentally, if you enjoy your murder mysteries, the old Poirot series starring David Suchet is really good. It adapts pretty much every Poirot story Christie ever wrote, and is ran for long enough that you will see a lot of familiar faces, some pre-fame.

I was really surprised to see the second doctor’s actor playing such a creepy character when I saw it recently. He had a fair amount of range.

I mean, there are a lot of non-violent felonies I’d be fine with a president having been convicted of. Most of the drug related ones, for example.

I’m not sure I’d consider it paranoid to be vague about certain details, or to not use your real name as part of your online identity; that used to be the default. I am up front about my politics, and people could probably guess that I live in wales, but while I’m sure Zuckerberg could find out

you unless you told them. The issue we have today, however, is how segregated the internet has become. Exposure to different kinds of people from different walks of life is the only way to reduce (or better, prevent) bigotry, but there will always be some friction in those interactions, and that

The internet is great. Some forms of social media are great. The biggest mistake was normalising behaviour that used to be highly discouraged online: giving people any information about who you are offline. It was much harder for schoolyard bullying to follow you home when nobody knew how to find

It’s not a question of how much they can do without votes (though things like the filibuster ought to be seeing more use). It’s the fact that they had four years in between trump terms and seemed to just assume that him being voted out solved the problem.

The difference between a millionaire and a billionaire is about a billion dollars. The difference between a trillionaire and a billionaire is about a trillion dollars. This is truly unfathomable wealth.

Thing is most people who drink to such excess do most of their drinking at home, where it’s much cheaper. Drinking in a pub, where there’s a legal responsibility for them to not serve people who are too drunk, and people spend their time talking (and so drink less and slower), is the better option.

Which is why, if I had the right to vote in American elections, I would have voted democrat. I think the whole system needs tearing down and rebuilding from scratch, but that’s not going to happen overnight, and in the meantime, I’d rather not have to live under a fascist dictator…

I never said that they were close, I said they were getting closer. There’s a difference. Again, I think voting democrat was the smart choice; there is absolutely nothing bad they would have done that trump hasn’t already done. That said, I can sympathise with not wanting to vote for someone who

How long can you spend voting for a party that travels farther and farther right in order to chase bipartisanship before you’re basically voting for fascists anyway? Obviously the democrats are not fascist, and voting democrat in the last election was the smart tactical decision, but…

Grandia is a pretty good option; it’s relatively easy as such games go, but has some interesting mechanics and a good story. Fair warning though: the voice acting is almost comically bad.

But violence against fascists is wrong; we should compromise with people whose ideology is violent in both ends and means, and therefore inflict a little bit of violence on vulnerable people, instead. Otherwise, having violent means makes us as bad as those with violent ends /s

To be fair, it’s fairly easy to play multiple rpgs; I’ve been doing it for a couple of decades. It’s somewhat harder to play multiple mmos. People who are getting what they want from wow are unlikely to switch, whereas dnd players can potentially be talked into trying something new for a one shot.
